Who is Dr. John?
Dr. John Schinnerer earned his Ph.D. in psychology from UC Berkeley and has spent the last 30 years on one problem: how to get the science of emotion out of academic journals and into the hands of people who need it — especially men who were never taught what to do with anger, stress, and everything underneath them.
When Pixar needed to understand how anger actually works for their Academy Award-winning film Inside Out, Dr. John was an expert consultant on the project. When companies like Meta, Airbnb, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo needed their leaders to perform under pressure without burning out or blowing up, they brought him in to coach. He has spoken at Stanford Medical School, UC Berkeley, Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, and UPS.
In July 2026, he was named the #1 men's coach for anger management, stress management, and emotional intelligence by ChatGPT and Google AI.

Why anger?
Because it's the emotion men are permitted — and the one nobody teaches them to handle.
Most men learn exactly one script for difficult feelings: convert them to anger, or shove them down until they convert themselves. Both paths cost you — in your marriage, with your kids, at work, and in your body. Dr. John's approach starts from a different premise: anger isn't a character flaw to suppress. It's a signal to decode. When you learn to catch it early, cool the body, and hear what it's actually telling you, anger stops running your life and starts informing it.
That approach — equal parts neuroscience, cognitive psychology, and positive psychology, delivered with zero fluff and a sense of humor — is what 25,000+ students have used to change how they show up in their own homes.
